May 8 Montebello Ridge Sun, 2B (7 miles 2000 feet). Meet at 1pm at Page Mill/280 Park and Ride. Sunset: 8:04pm. This outing will be modified but not cancelled by adverse weather. Depending on the kind of day it is, we might climb up to Black Mountain, over to Skyline Ridge, or down to Stevens Creek.Eat lunch beforehand; there will be a snack break but no extended lunch stop. The trails are mostly moderate but there are a few steep grades. Leaders Marty Klein and David Hough.
The weather wasn't welcoming. For a warmup out of the wind, we looped through Los Trancos.
Then down the Canyon Trail until we got bored.
The sag ponds were flush.
Returning via the nature trail, the weather got even less friendly toward the top.
We evacuated quickly, then on the way down: "When the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant."
We were stunned by hot sunny weather at Page Mill Park and Ride.
