June 14 - Mt Tamalpais, Sat, 4C-D. Join us for a hike to the ocean and back. Suggested No Host carpool at Edgewood Rd and Hwy 280 Park-n-Ride 7:45am or meet at the Mill Valley Bookstore at 9:00am. Call leader if you have not hiked with the DHS. Leader: Dot Reilly.
Up the Dipsea and down into the fog.
Lunch at Muir Beach Overlook. We never actually saw the beach.
Back through the savannah. The sun had appeared unexpectedly.

There was a reason the trail was closed, though the sign was removed from the west end.
Back to Mountain Home, then along Edgewood, the secret hideout of the astonishing chateaux of the nouveaux-riches. No photos allowed.
Then the long descent down the Dipsea to refreshing yellow watermelon.

Click on Dashboard to get the data. According to the data we hiked 17.26 miles in a moving time of 5:42 hours. The elevation gain is cumulative and counts every up/down step, but if you click on the Elevation tab, you can get a curve that has more reasonable elevation data. You can see that we climbed 4 peaks (750, 1325, 500, & 950ft) from a base level of approx 200ft.
