Nov. 22 Mt Tam Circumambulation Sat. 4C. We'll follow Troop 80 trail
to Cataract, then lunch at the lakes; take Eldridge Grade to
Hoo-Koo-E-Koo back to start point - Mtn Home parking lot! Bring
plenty of water and food. Carpool 7:30 a.m. at Page Mill Rd and Hwy
280 P&R, or meet at Mtn Home parking area 9 a.m. Debbie Benham;
Ruth Knotek.
This was one cold windy morning and nobody much enjoyed standing around Mountain Home waiting until 9am. Debbie announced that she wasn't up to the outing that day and so delegated authority to Ruth, Fran, and Betty and soon disappeared for Mill Valley. Soon other people started disappearing and by the end of the day our numbers were reduced by perhaps a third. Even so that left over thirty hikers most of the day.
The air was not completely clear so nobody was certain that they saw the Sierra. And the hike was shortened as well so we skipped Troop 80 and Cataract Gulch, wandering instead past Pan Toll. We took pictures of each other instead.
We found a big sunny meadow for lunch.
To insure sufficient elevation gain we descended to Lagunitas Lake and came back up again.
Debbie showed up again at the end with refreshments in the setting sun. Betty's birthday was the next day.
