No water on trail, so bring adequate water. Black Sands Beach is AWESOME!
The Morning Sun trailhead was a new starting point for me. The short trail goes straight up and was foggy and woodsy rather than open and sunny.
Rest atop first climb.
Frosty morning.
VORTAC is an aviation navigation system: Very high frequency Omni-directional Radio range TACtical air naviation.
We encountered many runners on a 20-miler from Tennessee Valley.
Our second climb brought us to the Old Fishermans Trail to Black Sands Beach for elevenses.
The third climb back to Tennessee Valley, and the fourth led to lunch atop Slacker Hill.
The sun came out briefly at Fort Baker.
The fifth climb of the day started at a locked gate and passed above the Waldo Tunnel. 3C???
No rest for the wicked though. Double time back to Morning Sun.
