Oct 6 Sat 3C DAY HIKE to Point Bonita Lighthouse led by Katy Christie Fleet Week, Parade of Ships 12 noon and Blue Angels 3 pm Depart Tennessee Valley Trailhead at 9 AM SHARP (Directions below) Enjoy a 3C hike in Marin Headlands and admire the spectacular air show provided by the Blue Angels. Enjoy the Parade of Ships through the Golden Gate from our lunch spot overlooking the bridge at noon. Our vantage point from Point Bonita Lighthouse will be an award winning seat. We should be on Hill 88 with a magnificent view of the entire bay for the Blue Angels show at 3 pm. We hike through a tunnel carved in basaltic rock and cross a magnificent swinging bridge to reach a rocky island that Point Bonita Lighthouse is perched on. We return via Rodeo Beach and the Coastal Trail. Spectacular ocean views. Moderate pace. 13 miles with 3,000 elevation gain. Return by 4:30 pm. Rain Cancels. Directions to Trailhead: From Hwy 101 Exit Hwy 1-Muir Woods-Stinson Beach. Drive west on Hwy 1 for 0.5 mile and turn left on Tennessee Valley Road. Drive 2 miles to end of road and park in large gravel lot below stables. Pit toilet, no water at trailhead. Join me for a spectacular hike and a fantastic air show!
