Some of the Tree Sisters will have an alternate hike this Saturday.
This is the Plan: Carpool at Edgewood & 280 8am sharp.
Start on this side of the GGB and hike over to the Marin Headlands,
up and down, left, right, up and down and up again and then have lunch
and repeat the same thing. This will be more fun than a barrel of monkeys.
The Tree Sisters were somewhat shorthanded so they dragooned some husbands to fill up the roster. We walked across the bridge in spectacular weather.
After an inspiring lunch in a green grassy glade, we headed over to the Point Bonita Lighthouse, a historic landmark with its original 1855 second-order Fresnel lens.
The approach is not for the unsteady.
Newlyweds and oldlyweds posed in the scenic setting.
Later we had a difference of opinion about how to proceed, one if by land, two if by sea.
At length we warmed the Prof. Clyde Warhaftig memorial bench.
Passing over the bridge again, we returned to our cars.
